Chewy Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies

Onto Nutella experiment numero dos for the day. Some of my coworkers are opposed to cookies that don’t have chocolate chips in them, so for those, I decided to make this second take on Nutella cookies with chocolate chips.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup Nutella
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips

Step 1: Cream butter with both sugars until light and fluffy. Stir in the egg, vanilla, and Nutella.

Step 2: Add the flour, baking soda, and salt into the wet mixture until just combined. Mix well, then add in the chocolate chips.

Step 3: Roll the dough into even-size balls and drop onto a sil-pat or parchment lined baking sheet. As mentioned in my other Nutella post tonight, my best friend was up from home for the weekend. She was my baking assistant today and we had some fun trying to teach her proper dough rolling technique. Let’s disregard my still unmanicured nails and quite sunburned skin from SPF-less tennis matches this morning. Rookie mistake.

Step 4: Bake at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes.

And there you have it. I got two thumbs up from both Katie and my dad, so I’m thinking I will have some happy coworkers for Double Cookie Nutella Monday tomorrow. As always, fingers crossed you make the cookie list! I’m always looking for cookie inspiration, so feel free to email me with any cookie ideas or challenges at thesaltedcookie@gmail.com.
